Smithville ISD Announces New SHS Assistant Principal
(May 21, 2018 7:45pm) Smithville ISD is pleased to announce Mr. Tucker Copeland has been selected as the new assistant principal of Smithville High School effective July 30, 2018.
Paul Smith, Principal of Smithville High School, stated, “Mr. Copeland is a highly qualified administrator with nine years of experience as an assistant principal. He brings a wealth of knowledge in campus procedures and successful implementation of those. Mr. Copeland is a family man and places value on community and students. We are excited to have him as our assistant principal at Smithville High School.”
Mr. Copeland began his teaching career at Gregory-Portland Intermediate School in 2003 where he taught 6th grade Resource English Language Arts and coached various sports. With his experience as an assistant principal at the junior high and high school level Tucker has gained value experience in administrative duties and assignments. During his administrative career Tucker has served as the administrator for all Special Education/504/ESL students, served as the Vice-Chair of the District Safety and Security Committee, and has been a Positive Behavior Support Team Leader. Mr. Copeland will be a positive addition to the campus working to support the staff and addressing the needs of students and programs.
Mr. Copeland’s objective is to lead the campus to academic success while also developing the social and emotional growth of students that transfers to student achievement long after they leave the academic environment.
