Smithville High School Homecoming Week: September 9-13, 2019

SHS Dress-Up Days: 


Monday – Pajama Day 

Dress up in your favorite pajamas (dress code appropriate)

Tuesday – Disney Day

Dress up in your favorite Disney character

Wednesday – Class theme day

Dress up in your class theme (ready to ride the float)

Thursday – Sci-Fi/Fantasy Day

Dress up in science fiction or fantasy character

Friday – Spirit Day

Dress up in orange and black


Wednesday after school:  classes should be putting the final touches on their floats and be ready to 

                                                line up by 7:15


Wednesday evening:   

Parade begins at 7:30 at the high school student parking lot led by the fire department truck loaded with the Tigers football players followed by the class floats, cars, wheelers,horses, bicycles, etc. line up at 7:15 and head to Barry Field.  Float judging will take place in the parking lot.


Parade Route: starts at the high school parking lot, onto Hwy 95 to 1st Street then onto Main Street to Loop 230 to Wilkes Street into the stadium.


Community–wide Pep Rally: Floats can be driven onto the track and parked around the visitor side of the track….fill the stands to watch the cheerleaders, band, class dance off, introduction of queen & king candidates, coaches talk, etc.


The burning of the “S”.


Tug-of-War Pre-lims:  each class will have 10 competitors – 5 girls and 5 guys.  

                                             Freshman will challenge the juniors

                                             Sophomores will challenge the seniors

Winners & losers of each challenge will face off during Friday’s pep rally.

 King and Queen Coronation at stadium starting at 7:00

Homecoming Game – Smithville Tigers vs.  Columbus Cardinals
