CCMR in Texas prepares high school students for college, careers, and military service. It emphasizes rigorous coursework, career exploration through programs of study and internships, and military readiness with fitness training and leadership development. Collaborating with schools, employers, and communities, CCMR ensures students have the skills and resources for success. Whether pursuing higher education, entering the workforce, or considering military service, CCMR equips students with the tools they need to thrive after graduation.
ABOUT CCMR INDICATORS
Readiness for the next step after high school - College, Career, or Military - is the culmination of a K-12 culture of high expectations, opportunities to engage in challenging coursework, and career exploration.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has identified specific ways that a student can demonstrate readiness for college, career, and military experience beyond high school. SISD strives for each graduate to meet at least one of the College, Career & Military Readiness (CCMR) indicators below through high school programming.
Meet specific criteria on assessments of college readiness - SAT, ACT, or TSIA2
Earn credit for the Math/English College Prep courses offered to seniors on each high school campus
Earn 3 hours of Dual Credit in Math or English
Earn 9 hours of Dual Credit in any subject other than Math or English
Earn a 3 or higher on an Advanced Placement (AP) exam in any subject area in grades 9-12
Earn an Associate's Degree while in high school
Complete an aligned sequence of CTE coursework and earn the culminating Industry-Based Certification
Enlist in the United States Armed Forces or National Guard after graduation
