The Lady Tiger Athletics community joins the entire town of Smithville and the Nelson/Borja family in mourning the loss of one of our Alumni.
Bridget (Nelson) Borja, Smithville High School Class of 2008, passed away over the weekend. Bridget was a fierce competitor, a loyal teammate, and a true friend. I had the opportunity to play volleyball, basketball, softball, and run cross country with her, and I can attest to the profound impact her dedication to Lady Tiger Athletics had on me, and on the entire Lady Tiger athletics program. Bridget was all heart and tough as nails, and that carried over into everything she did.
We send our thoughts and prayers to her husband and her two sons, and all those who loved her.
